SwimFast is the pre-competition stage of our programme of lessons. Normally, children will progress into this stage having completed SwimWell. Children who are looking for a structured introduction to club swimming can also join our SwimFast stage.
In SwimFast, your child will refine their already efficient technique and increase the distances swum in each session. They will also learn how to swim with speed and hone in on more technical skills like turns and transitions into each stroke, as well as a good racing dive start.
If your child is ready for SwimFast, the please do not hesitate to get in touch.
SwimTots classes are proving to be very popular with the tots and their mummies and or daddies, who are able to join their wee ones in the lovely warm water.
Your child will become more confident in the water and will develop the first skills in order to be able to begin travelling on their own, without aids or assistance.
Your child won’t use flotation aids. Your child should be comfortable with their face being in the water and being gently splashed.
Your child should be able to travel 5 metres unaided on their front and back, using their feet and legs. Children should be happy floating on their front and back.
This is the most difficult stage of the learning process, due to the fact the distances are increasing, while learning how to be more efficient in the water.
Your child will begin to become more efficient with their strokes and gain a better understanding of underwater skills, as well as diving and turns.
Your child should be able to swim one length of basic technique on a fourth stroke, usually butterfly or breaststroke.
One-to-two or one-to-one can provide a more intensive swimming regime for children whose needs are such that this format of learning is required.
